If you’ve followed our journey with Harvey, you’ll know that anxiety has been something we’ve been navigating for a while. So I thought I would share our experience of using PAWD with our Springer Spaniel boy.

Since he was attacked, we haven’t quite had the same dog. He has been more alert, more sensitive to noise, and generally finds it harder to fully relax. Like many dog owners in a similar position, we’ve put a lot in place already, we have worked on calming protocols, and making sure his environment supports him as much as possible.

But we reached a point where it felt like he might benefit from a little extra support alongside everything else we were doing.

That’s when we introduced PAWD.

How We Use It

We started with the ready-made glass bottles, which were really convenient, especially when figuring out how it fit into our routine. Over time, we moved onto the powder version, which felt like a better fit for us environmentally.

It’s simple to use, you can add it to water or sprinkle it over food. We tend to give it in the morning as part of Harvey’s daily routine. We even track it on our No Fuss Fill Pup Planner, just to make sure we don’t accidentally double up.

What We’ve Noticed

It’s important to say this isn’t a magic fix and we wouldn’t expect it to be.

But what we have seen is a noticeable shift in Harvey’s ability to settle. He seems more able to switch off and rest more deeply. Previously, even small movements like me getting up from my desk would have him immediately alert and following. Now, he’s more likely to stay relaxed.

For us, that’s been a meaningful improvement.

5 Things We Like About PAWD

1. Natural ingredients, no additives or preservatives
This was a big one for us. Knowing it’s made without unnecessary extras made it feel like a gentle, considered addition rather than something overly processed.

2. Lemon balm (melissa) & passionflower
We liked that lemon balm is known to help reduce cortisol and heart rate relatively quickly. That felt particularly relevant for Harvey, especially after walks or situations where he might feel triggered, it complements the calming work we’re already doing.

3. Easy to give, once a day
Whether in water or over food, it’s straightforward and is quick to prepare, I am all about making life easy for people who care for dogs so this matters.

4. Recommended Product status from The Dog Training School
This gave us an extra level of confidence, especially coming from a training-focused background where behaviour and welfare are their priority. We also know that the testing is rigorous and has to meet certain metrics to ‘ Pass’

5. A real difference in Harvey’s ability to ‘switch off’
This has been the biggest thing for us. That deeper level of rest and relaxation is something we hadn’t quite been able to achieve before.

(Bonus)
The people behind PAWD are genuinely lovely, and it always feels good to support good people doing good things.

Final Thoughts

PAWD hasn’t replaced any of the work we’ve done with Harvey, we wouldn’t and didn't expect it to.

But as part of a wider approach, it’s been a helpful addition. A small, layer of support that seems to help him settle a little bit easier.

And sometimes, that’s exactly what you’re looking for.
